The data in Exercise 11.53 were plotted by Systat’s ‘‘influence plot.’’ This plot is a scatterplot, with each point identified as to how much its removal would change the correlation. The larger the point, the more its removal would change the correlation. The plot is shown in the figure. Does there appear to be an increasing pattern in the plot? Do any points clearly fall outside the basic pattern?
