Sales of hybrid cars: Since their mass introduction near the turn of the century, the sales of hybrid cars in the United States grew steadily until late 2007, when the price of gasoline began showing signs of weakening and eventually dipped below $3.00/gal. Estimates for the annual sales of hybrid cars are given in the table for the years 2002 through 2009 (2000 S 0). (a) Use a graphing calculator to draw a scatterplot of the data and decide if the association is linear or nonlinear. (b) If linear, calculate a regression model for the data and display the scatterplot and data on the same screen.
