The following problems should be drawn accurately in pencil using your drawing instruments. They should be drawn lightly with a 3H pencil and then carefully retraced with an H pencil. Construction lines need not be erased if they are light and hardly visible. Keep the pencil sharp, and bear down slightly at the beginning and end of each line. Once you have mastered the use of the pencil and drawing instruments, you may trace the exercises using technical drafting pens and India ink. Geometric shape (Figure. 1). Using the scale 1" = 1'-0", draw a square with 1'-2" sides, a circle 1'-6" in diameter, a rectangle 8" X 1'-9", an equilateral triangle with 1'-5" sides, and a parallelogram 9" × 1'-7", using a 30° to 6,0° triangle. Using the same scale, draw a trapezoid with the longest side 2'-3 " and with a vertical height of 11" using a 45° triangle.
