An L-2 tool steel link in a forging machine is pin connected to the forks at its ends as shown. Determine the maximum load P it can carry without buckling. Use a factor of safety with respect to buckling of F.S. = 1.75. Note from the figure on the left that the ends are pinned for buckling, whereas from the figure on the right the ends are fixed.
