Construct a simple conductivity tester as per the diagram below. Determine the conductivity of various metal and non-metal objects by performing the following steps:

a. Put a flashlight bulb in a socket and mount them onto a piece of wood.


b. Connect one wire from the socket to one terminal of the battery.


c. Connect another wire lo the other side of the socket (NOT to the battery).


d. Connect a third wire to the other battery terminal (NOT to the socket).


e. Wrap (at least six times) each of the loose wire ends to clean head thumbtacks.


f. Place the tacks (after wire wrapping) firmly into the erasers of two pencils that are used as the conductivity probes.


g. Now that you have constructed a conductivity tester (a simple conductivity analyzer), test a variety of objects and record the results in chart form.
