Reversible cyclic processes are simulated in which the cycle is either rectangular or triangular on a P–V plot. For each segment and for the cycle, ΔU, q, and w are determined. For a given cycle type, the ratio of work done on the surroundings to the heat absorbed from the surroundings is determined for different P and V values.
