Solution
The absolute value of a number is always nonnegative. Therefore, |3 − 7x| ≥ −8 is always true, so the solution is the set of all real numbers. Note that the inequality |3 − 7x| ≤ −8 has no solution, because the absolute value of a quantity can never be less than a negative number.
