Consider the following;

The claim is \mu  <98.6°F

The sample size is n= 3

The test statistic is t =1.027

Thus, the degrees of freedom for the test statistic are decreased by one in the sample size

Hence, the degree of freedom is; df =n-1 =3-1  =2

Therefore, the degree of freedom is df = 2

The P-value corresponding to the test statistics value is calculated as follows,

Calculate P-value value in Excel, using the command = T dist(x, df, tails), the screenshot is shown below,

= TDIST(1.027,2,1)

The critical value screenshot is shown below

= 0.206198

Hence, the P- value is 0.20619
