Answer #1

Ans.

Yes i can,

Quadratic equations have many applications in the arts and sciences, business, economics, medicine and engineering.

The Quadratic Formula uses the "a", "b", and "c" from "ax2 + bx + c", where "a", "b", and "c" are just numbers; they are the "numerical coefficients" of the quadratic equation.

Definition:

A quadratic equation is defined as an equation which has a degree of 2, also called an “equation of degree 2”. The word “Quadratic” comes from “quad” means four and “Quadratic” means ‘to make a square’.

Standard Form:

             The standard form of a polynomial equation having a degree two is ax2 + bx + c = 0, a ≠ 0 Where “x” is a variable and a, b, c are real numbers.

Example:

Julie works as a nurse.According to her daily schedule she has to give Medication dosage to 60 patient's daily.    One day she took 1 hour longer than she expected ,and therefore she gave Medication dosage to 3 patients less per hour than anticipated. How long did she expected to give Medication dosage to 60 patient's ?

Solution:

Let x be the number of hours she expected. Then x+1 the total number of hours actually took to complete Medication. As she gave Medication dosage to 3 patients less per hour . The number of patients is divided by the number of hours.

Using above details, we have equation

60/x -3=60/(x+1)

(60-3x)/x=60/(x+1)

60(x+1)-3x(x+1)=60x

60x+60-3x2-3x=60x

-3x2-3x+60=0

3x2+3x-60=0

x2+x-20=0

x2+5x-4x-20=0

x(x+5)-4(x+5)=0

(x+5)(x-4)=0

x=-5 or x=-4

Ignore the negative value as it is not valid. Therefore she expected to give Medication dosage to 60 patient's in 4 hours.
