Two forces F1 and F2 are acting on a mass M=3.0 kg. The force F1 = 11.0i + 6.0j + 9.0k, in N. The acceleration of the mass is given by a = 2.0i + 3.0j + 5.0k, in m/s2. Calculate the magnitude of F2.

acceleration of the mass a = 2.0i + 3.0j + 5.0k m/s^2

so net force on mass F = ma = 6 i + 9 j + 15 k N

two force F1 and F2 acting on mass so

F = F1 + F2

F2 = F - F1 = 6 i + 9 j + 15 k - (11.0i + 6.0j + 9.0k) = - 5 i + 3 j + 6 k

magnitude of F2 = sqrt(5^2 + 3^2 + 6^2) = 8.36 N
