Question

44) (3 pt) The following pedigree analyzes linkage between the ABO blood group and nail patella syndrome. Determine the Lod score for the data set (use the offspring in the 3rd generation) assuming a recombination frequency of 0.2. What does the asterisk mean? What information does the Lod score and your result suggest? Lod log. (-0 (0)o5)*] Note: the data available in the first generation provide information regarding assignment of recombinants and non-recombinants (the reason the equation is not split in halves). Answer #1

Lod score = log 10 [((1- theta )nr (theta)r / 0.5nr+r ]

recombination frequency is 0.2 , theta = 0.2

n is number of non recombinants = 8

r is number of recombinants =2

Putting the values in the formula , we get 0.4288
