Situation (22): Experimental failure. After conducting several experiments, you failed to attain certain results or to reach an agreed upon goal. How did you deal with this situation to induce your teacher to change the scope and goal of the project?

After conducting several experiments, i did not get any favorable results. This can be because the comparing results have different kind of physical, chemical characteristics which changes in place, time, temperature, period within which experiment has been conducted. For each kind of tests there are different assumptions which are to be taken. the difference in results will occur and may or may not be tallyed with other results. Since there are some specifications that the values for the experiment should be in range, may differ due to the environmental change which can be time of sample collection, place of collection, method used to conduct experiment and find the result, season of collection, local disturbances i.e., industries, surface or ground water etc., topography of the location. When a certain source of result is compared, we should keep in mind that the experiment is not done at the same time. the results may differ and cannot be predicted in few exceptional cases.

The Scope and goal of the test done is to be changed as there is a difference in actual and alternative results which are calculated manually. The change of scope and goal changes only when the new method of experimentation is done which may take longer duration and suitable equipment is in available also in working condition. Change of project can be done as a modification done in the results obtained from the experimentation.

NOTE : In this case, it is not mentioned about the type of project under taken. To this reason explanation for change of project is quite difficult. Depending upon the experiment, reason for explanation changes for different projects.
