Poor and Homeless | Poor and Homeless people are vulnerable to most of the diseases because of inadequate housing and inadequate nutrition. Malnutrition, Sexual problems, and other infections because of improper hygiene.Prevention can be done by proper screening and Education, vaccinations, distribution of condoms, providing shelter and Promotion can be done through social agencies by continuous monitoring and maintenance of Health. |
Pregnancy teens | Pregnancy in teens is a social problem which affects the Health of the teen drastically and also results in the high risk mortality of the mother and the infant. This is also one of the risk factor for Substance, abuse, poor and Homeless etc. Prevention can be possible through adolescent education on risk factors, sex education and methods of avoiding unwanted pregnancies these comes under the primary prevention and Promotion of health can be done through regular monitoring of the teen mother ,providing nutritious rich diet, vaccines that can be given during pregnancies and also maintaining the Health through health care social agencies etc. |
Mentally ill | Prevention and Promotion of Mental Health can only be possible by identifying the positive aspects of the person that can motivate him through better out comes.This indicated the selective prevention I.e. targeting high risk mental disorders as the primary, Secondary indicates the interventions that can be planned and Tertiary would include the rehabilitation aervices provided to reducece the disability. |
Substance Abusers |
Substance abuse is also considered as one type of Mental illness pertained to the involvement of society. It can be of drugs, alcohol I.e. ETOH etc.This also includes other social problems with the substance abuse , they are teenage pregnancy, Sexually transmitted diseases, child abuse, Crime etc.Concerning all these the primary prevention it self focuses on the promotion of health in such groups. With drawl measures by psychotherapist, drugs in the primary, Education of the person and the family regarding the risk factors, tertiary includes the psycho rehabilitation therapies such as Aversion therapy. Promotion of health is by continuous motivational social programmes and awareness camps. |
Persons with Disabilities | Persons with Disabilities are more prone to injuries and also diseases, People who are disable could not make and maintain them selves to be hygiene, also improper care and monitoring leads to injuries.So the primary prevention takes the primary concern which might be due to lack of care. A person must take care of the person avoiding them, also supporting devices must be provided and injuries which are prone to infection must be disinfected and cleaned , As a secondary prevention a therapist must be employed to help the person to cope up with the disabilities and helping to do daily routine self care activities.As a tertiary prevention education must be provided to the family members about the importance of care to be provided and maintenance and Promotion of health can only be possible with the Assisted living facilities, rehab centres etc. |
