A continuous process of identifying, measuring, and developing the performance of individuals and teams and aligning performance with the strategic goals of the organization

Two main components
1. Continuous process (ongoing, never ending process of setting goals/objectives)
2. Alignment with strategic goals (ensure that employee outputs are congruent with the organization's goals).

Examples of Performance Management Systems:
1 An Appraisal of Employee Online Performance Software.
2 Web-Based Employee-Appraisal Software.
3 Patch Norton Antivirus.
4 Write a Manager's Performance Appraisal.
