less than one focal length from the eyepiece

when object distance is less than focal length a virtual image is formed.

1) V_helium = (4/3)*pi*R^3

= (4/3)*pi*4.9^3

= 492.8 m^3

2) Fg = m_helium*g + mb*g

= rho_helium*V_helium*g + mb*g

= 0.18*492.8*9.8 + 121*9.8

= 2055 N

3) B = rho_air*(V_helium + Vb)*g

= 1.28*(492.8 + 0.071)*9.8

= 6183 N

4) The magnitude of the force of gravity on each person = mp*g

= 72*9.8

= 705.6 N

5) magnitude of buoynat force on each person = rho_air*Vp*g

= 1.28*0.076*9.8

= 0.953 N

6) the number of people that the ballon can lift,

N = (6183 - 2055)/(705.6 - 0.953)

= 5.86

= 5

In a classic carnival ride, patrons stand against the wall in a cylindrically shaped room. Once the room gets spinning fast enough, the floor drops from the bottom of the room! Friction between the walls of the room and the people on the ride make them the "stick" to the wall so they do not slide down. In one ride, the radius of the cylindrical room is R 6m and the room spins with a frequency of 23.2 revolutions per...
