Answer #1

25)

we have mass of each elements as:

N: 42.41 g

H: 9.15 g

O: 48.44 g

Divide by molar mass to get number of moles of each:

N: 42.41/14.01 = 3.0271

H: 9.15/1.008 = 9.0774

O: 48.44/16.0 = 3.0275

Divide by smallest to get simplest whole number ratio:

N: 3.0271/3.0271 = 1

H: 9.0774/3.0271 = 3

O: 3.0275/3.0271 = 1

So empirical formula is:NH3O

Answer: NH3O
