Answer #1

The reaction of KHP with NaOH is as follows:

KHP + NaOH ------> KNaP + H2O

1 mol KHP = 1 mol NaOH

The possible conversion factors are,

(1mol KHP / 1 mol NaOH) or (1 mol NaOH/ 1 mol KHP)

Number of moles of KHP:

0.5468 g KHP × ( 1 mol KHP / 204.32 g KHP)

= 0.002677 mol KHP

Number of moles of NaOH:

0.002677 mol KHP × ( 1 mol NaOH / 1 mol KHP)

= 0.002677 mol NaOH

Volume = 23.84 mL × ( 1 L / 1000 mL)

= 0.02384 M

Molarity of NaOH

= number of moles of NaOH / volume of NaOH ( L)

= 0.002677 mol / 0.02384

= 0.1123 M

Hence the concentration of NaOH is 0.1123 M
