Infants and children are considered to be the most vulnerable group in the world. They are most vulnerable because they are unable to speak and are not able to express their feelings or emotions and can be easily cheated or misbehaved with. It is very important to take good care and support to them and to check if their needs are being met. Also we need to see that their ethical values are met and maintained.
Nurses play a vital role in maintaining the infant and child nursing ethics. She is the person who identifies the difficulties that a child as well as the mother is facing and tries to work accordingly. She always helps the mother to identify her role in the motherhood. She is also constantly reminding the mother of an infant and a child's rights. She should always monitor the children's right has been met or not. A child has right to be with the mother throughout his childhood, she should be breastfed till few years of her age, she should always be taken care of physically, emotionally and psychologically. If not able to do so is considered to be violating the ethical rights of the children.
