Answer #1

Given:

Pi = 750 mm Hg

= (750/760) atm

= 0.9868 atm

Pf = 1.0 atm

Vi = 1.00 L

Ti = 21.0 oC

= (21.0+273) K

= 294 K

Tf = 273.0 K

use:

(Pi*Vi)/(Ti) = (Pf*Vf)/(Tf)

(0.9868 atm*1 L)/(294.0 K) = (1 atm*Vf)/(273.0 K)

Vf = 0.9164 L

Answer: 0.916 L
