Buffer is classified into 2 types

1. Acid buffer

2. Base buffer

Acid buffer means the mixture of weak acid ( HNO2 ) and its salt with strong base ( KNO2 )

potassium nitrite ( KNO2 ) is the salt derived from weak acid ( HNO2 ) and strong base ( KOH ).

Base buffer means the mixture of a weak base ( NH3 ) and its salt with a strong acid ( NH4NO3 )

Ammonium nitrate ( NH4NO3 ) is the salt derived from weak base ( NH3 ) and strong acid ( HNO3 )

Therfore 1 st question answer is 0.31 mole HNO2

2 nd question answer is 0.33 mole NH4NO3
