Hydrogen Bond: The bond between high electronegative atom like O,F or N and hydrogen atom ( which is attached to O,F or N) is called hydrogen bond.

Due to the formation of Hydrogen bond ethanol has higher boiling point than dimethyl ether.

In ethanol hydrogen bond formation is takes place because here hydrogen atom is attached to more electronegative oxygen atom.

But Incase dimethyl ether hydrogen bond is not possible.

So it has less boiling point than ethanol.
