Nurse as a lobbyist in the health care field increase their chance of being an advocate for the public, insurance, providers and legitimate transition from the field and gain in-depth knowledge. In the U.S the nurse considered as the members with more knowledge among health care professionals and their decision adds on weight and considered as a vital one because they come from the well-respected profession. Nurses must be skilled inatient care as well as in interdisciplinary teamwork, IT, use evidence-based practice, and quality improvement.

The reasons the nurse a not as a lobbyist is because of a successful lobbyist making connections and networking are the critical ones and lack of knowledge, inadequate skill or very little opportunities provided are the factors of a nurse not being a lobbyist.
