The marketing information systems give out three types of data to help improve the sales volume.
1. Firstly the recurrent data gives you period information about sales data, market trends, customer survey feedbacks, customer increase based on advertisements and advertisement expenditure. These data points from the marketing information system can have a positive effect on sales volume.
2. Secondly, the monitoring data gives information on external factors that could either signal opportunities or identify threats for your business. These can include government policies on your business and annual financial reports of your competitors
3. Thirdly, the marketing information system also can provide requested information in the form of focus groups or customer satisfaction surveys that can aid decision makers as to how to improve the service or product that the business engages in.
