Reason for a. if the endorsement on paycheck is to someone to whom it is normally not done, the chances are that it might be a check issued to the company indirectly through a ghost employee.

Reason for b. employee not being present when paychecks are delivered can also mean the employee is a ghost employee.

Reason for c. Every employee's time needs to be recorded to ensure that payment is made based on the number of hours worked. So, if an employee does not have a time card or time card is filled by someone other than the employee, the chances that it is ghost employee is high.
