If you were a manager in an organization where teams play a major role, what kind of motivation would you offer the teams to be successful?        
How would you ensure that all team members contribute to the work - in other words, how would you avoid free-riding by a member?

a. Manager should keep in mind that people may have all the expertise if they are not motivated, its unlikely that they will have achieve their true potential.

Every team member is different, and will likely have different motivators. So, it's important to get to know your people, discover what motivates them.

You can't directly control a person's interest in his or her job. Of course, an individual does have some responsibility for motivating himself , but you can encourage that process by creating an environment that helps him to become more motivated.

Always manager should listen to his employees. Assess them and provide specific feedback about the performance. He should know what his team needs to achieve the goal.

b. There is always team member who does not pull their weight.

Manager should identify encourage the person to contribute their fair share.

1. Make the task more meaningful. Let them recognize the importance of their task.

2. Let them know what's their peers are doing.

3.When working with a team it's always matters individual contribution.

4. Assign unique responsibility.

5. Build a stronger relationship and it may be time to work on the relationship.
