Answer #1

Lorenz coefficient is also called as Gini coefficient as the Gini coefficient is derived from the Lorenz curve.

Lorenz coefficient is used to measure income inequality in a society. It used a representation of distribution of wealth in a country. Lorenz coefficient will be zero if the income received by all the people in that region or country is equal.

When the Lorenz coefficient is zero it means there is a perfect equality in distribution of wealth between people when it is 1 it means that there is perfect inequality prevailing in the society.
