Answer #1

1.One teaspoon =5ml

So 10ml=2 teaspoon

Ans:Instruct the grandmother to take 2 teaspoon of medication

2.gr.X=600mg

So the ordered dose is 600mg

Available:300mg

To get the number of tablet divide 600mg/300mg

=2

Ans:2 tablet

3.Given

Order :Ondasetron

Dose:0.15mg/kg

Maximum dose:16mg/dose

Available:8mg/2ml

Weight:150pounds (68.1 or 60kg=150×0.454)

As 1kg=0.15mg

Then 68kg=??mg

Cross multiply and divide

=0.15mg×68÷1

=10.2 or 10mg

As the availability is 8mg/2ml

Then 10mg=??ml

Cross multiply and divide

=10×2÷8

=2.5ml

Ans:The nurse should withdraw 2.5ml
