Discuss the health impact of sugar consumption. What are the suggested guidelines for sugar consumption? Do you feel that there should be a tax on foods that are high in sugar? Explain your answer.
High intake of sugar may lead to various serious problems in the body as heart risk, diabetes, obesity and the increased blood pressure. Hence it should be taken in the recommended limits. As per the guidelines of the American heart association for men the daily recommended limit is 37.5 grams/9 teaspoons
but for the women its about 25 grams/6 teaspoons.
As per the health experts there should be some taxes for limiting the supply of sugars but the government and the industries are not in this favor.
As per my opinion there should be control on sugar level in food and beverages.
