Question

Estimate the mass of pure Pt nanoparticles that it is expected to obtain at the end of the process, and what is the reaction yield?

Given 9.84mg of NaBH4 and 3ml of 9.657mM of H2PtCl6

H2PtCl + NaBHA + H2O → Pt + NaCl + B(OH)3 + H21

Answer #1

Ans: H2PtCl6+NaBH4+H2O----->Pt+NaCl+B(OH)3+H2

From this equation, we can easily calculate the amount of pure Pt nanoparticle that is expected to obtain at the end of the process.

From 37.83 grams of NaBH4, we obtained 195.08 gm of Pt.

So from 9.84 mg NaBH4, we will get = 195.08*0.00984/37.83 grams

= 0.05073 grams
