Mandatory reporting is a legal requirement that must be reported to government authority with a reasonable belief to protect the child from abuse. some jurisdictions it is mandatory physical, sexual, emotional and neglect abuse should be reported. some jurisdictions it is mandatory to report some abuse of children to domestic violence. sexual abuse should not be reported only suspicious must be reported. US Department of Health and Human Services mandated reporters are a person should be 14 years or older can report the event, health care professionals, teachers, parents, guardians, responsible for the child directly, regularly scheduled program activity to report suspected child abuse. Mandatory reporting laws decrease and prevent incidents from occurring. According to HHS when the reporter suspects that the child has been abused that should not be reported, but when the child being subjected to harm that should be reported. reporters should provide names and contact information for conducting an investigation.
