Erikson's stages of psychosocial development:
It is a comprehensive psychoanalytic theory identify 8 stages of
healthy developing human must pass from infant age to late age. It
increases the sense of competence and healthy personality when
failure to fulfill the task leads to feelings of inadequacy.
Erikson's stage includes Trustvs mistrust, Autonomy Vs shame,
initiate vs guilt, industry vs inferiority, identity vs role
confusion, intimacy vs isolation, generativity vs stagnation,
integrity vs despair. successful completion of each theory provides
a healthy personality and acquisition of basic virtues. Erikson
acknowledged this theory is an overview of human physical, social,
psychological and cognitive development on how and why this
development occurs.
Trust vs mistrust is the first stage from birth to 18 months.
Infant receiving a consistent, reliable, predictable sense of trust
relations towards caregivers and feel more secure. There will be
sense of mistrust, suspicion, and anxiety when they lack

Autonomy vs shame and doubt age group between 1/12 -3 years
children develop their physical skills and sense of independence.

Initiative vs guilt is a stage 3 preschool-age from 3 to 6 years.

Industry vs inferiority is a stage 4 school stage from 6 -12 years.

Identity vs role confusion is an adolescent age from 12 to 18
years,they develop in sense of self. They focus on various roles,
goals and they have a strong sense of identity ad face problems
with people's perspectives. They feel positive role struggle to
find them as an adult.
Intimacy vs isolation is early adulthood from 20to40years. they
share their life with others. Adults should have a strong sense of
self for successful intimacy, those who do not develop a positive
self-concept may experience loneliness and emotional
isolation.
Generativity vs stagnation is a 40s middle adulthood that extends
up to 60s. Generativity involves the contribution of development
through various activities through child birth and caring for
others which contribute positively to social relationships. They
experience stagnation when they do not accomplish the task and
leading their life in a meaningful way, they have little interest
in self-improvement.
Integrity vs despair is from the 60s till the end of life. they
feel either a sense of satisfaction or sense of failure. people
when accomplished their entire task feel a sense of integrity those
who not successful feel their life waste, they feel their rest of
the life with depression, despair, and feeling anxiety.
