Answer: The ICD-10-CM i.e. international classification of disease is used by the coders to code the disease, treatment, cause and all the expenses for the treatment given to the patient by the healthcare professionals and the hospitals. It is a set of data which is in coded form. These data help the patient as well as coders to have a track on the complete access of the healthcare of patients as it contains all the information regarding the initial stage of disease to the final treatment given along with the sign and symptoms, billing etc.

But sometimes if any error occurs in the coding by the coder, this leads to the difficulty for the patient to get the reimbursement from the insurance company as coding mainly consists of words and numeric, slight change or error can trouble the patient alot.
