HIPAA-Heath Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

HIPAA works to increase the insurance coverage to people and provide quality care. They also provide protection to helath information.

HIPAA rule provide protection to health information by privacy rule in which is restricts the use or disclosure of information of the person and can only use it if there is consent from the patient.

Individual may disclose their information for essential resons such as research purposes.

I think HAPAA not have to provide protection for people who voluntarily gave their information to others as they should know the consequences of their actions if the their personal records go into wrong hands.

Patientslikeme is a profit company which helps people gain perspective of the disease and discuss with each other.
