take a position on whether individuals exhibit the same ethical behavior in their professional lives that they do in their personal lives? Why or why not? Provide examples to support your position.

Ethical behaviour generally means following and adhering right moral standards and professional standards. In other words, we can say ethical behaviour consists of good values and practices.

To be very honest, we can say that all individuals do not exhibit the same ethical behavuour in their professional lives that they do in their personal lives. The main reason that works behind this is money, fame, high post in organization.

Though some individuals exhibit the same ethical behaviour in their both professional as well as personal lives. This whole scenario depends on certain factors which include-

(1). How strong are professional standards of an organization.

(2). Whether the upbringing of the individual is done in ethical manner.

(3). Whether there is any peer pressure etc..

Example -

(a). Manipulation of financial statements to attract more investors or to obtain loan from banks.

(b). Disclosure of confidential details of a client to outsider in exchange for money.

The case may be opposite also sometimes. An individual may exhibit ethical behaviour in his professional life but may not in his personal life. This is mainly due to strong compliance of professional standards in an organization.
