Many research has been conducted on tobacco addiction.It is one of the common problem existing adults of all ages especially high among young adult and older adults.Near one third of death are due to cancer of lung.It is non of the highest addictive substance used by US nationals.
Addiction is a form of chronic longing for a particular substance and the person can go to any extent to get and use it.The main reason for this is the nicotine in it which stimulates the brain cells which is responsible for pleasure.Simultaneously the smoked exhaled has many chemical in it ,one specific chemical is acetyladehyde which when combines together with nicotine triggers one to smoke again and again.Nicotine starts acting in few seconds (less than 10 seconds) and could last for few minutes only.But the ill effects caused by it is irreversible and affecting each and every organ of the body mainly affecting the lungs,brain,heart ,kidneys and liver.Though immediate symptoms are not seen it will have a greater impact in the later half of life.
It is really a matter of worry that nearly 3200 young adults try a cigarette for the first time each day.Young adults range from late teens are in their twenties.This is a stage in life where they are experimental and try everything even it is harmful. This behaviour makes them to try from cigars, cigarillos,hookah to non combustible tobacco like toothpicks,breath strips,mints.The addiction happens mostly because of life style changes,peer groups,exposure, exploring ideas,to seek pleasure if tensed. As they ere healthy at this stage the side effects are not seen.To quit strong self determination and mefica, help is needed.
Tobacco addiction in older adults are majorly due to stress, loneliness, divorcee,poor life style management. They are increased risk to the disease due to old age where metabolism are slowed down,meficsl ailments,on medications.The risk for vpcancer and cardiovascular fisease are dramatically increased.This people can be advices to cease it because they have a increased number of visits to a healthcare provide.
