Total consumption= 2000 litres

Cost of gasoline before taxation= 2000*$1 = $2000

Cost of gasoline after taxation= 2000 * $1.25= $2500

Cash transfer per year= $500

Therefore, if 20000 litres of gasoline is consumed, the net effect of increase in price of the gasoline because of taxation gets cancelled ouDiagram (ag As price of gasoline increases, the quantity demanded usile fall - because of increase a in taxation. Quantity oft with cash transfer of $500 per year.
