Answer #1
The United States government should control immigration because
many immigrants are not well educated. In addition, the immigrants that
do blue collar jobs (like construction and agriculture) are driving out the Americans from
those jobs. In other words, immigrants are lowering wages and taking away jobs
from people who are born in the United States.
There were 43.7 million immigrants in the United States in 2016. The immigrants can be
a burden on the economy because all immigrants do not know English and are not necessarily
skilled workers. The government has to provide jobs, healthcare, education, and social security for all immigrants and
their families. The government has to spend huge amounts of money in the process of providing
for the immigrants and their families.
The government should grant permanent residency and citizenship to those who are well qualified for
jobs that Americans are not capable of doing. Jobs in scientific research, engineering, and information
technology for example.
