Orthostatic hypotension

When body sodium will be depleted through vomiting , depletion of the extracellular fluid that also causes water loss , a decrease in extra cellular volume also cause decrease in circulation volume , which furthur causes decrease in organ perfusion.

When fluid volume loss is 10% which causes orthostatic hypotension.

2. Answer.

You should expect the test to take 2 hours

It is an external monitoring test which is performed to test whether the foetus is able to tolerate contraction during labour or not , the patient position is side lying and IV oxytocin is given , the target is to get effective results in every 10 minutes.

Along with oxytocin patient are told to stimulate nipples to produce natural oxytocin, minimum 3 contractions in 10 min should be achieved.

This procedure takes at least 2 hour and patient is instructed to lie on bed for atleast 2 hours .

in right occiput anterior side the baby's back is at the right side of mother, the baby's face is at the left side of mother , so the back is at the right side of mother, then fetoscope can be placed at the lower right side of the stomach to hear fetal heart sound .
