Using normal distribution table the probability for X> 70 can be calculated, by finding the Z score at X= 70 .

And the area to the right at X=70 will be the probability . Now by Z score formula Z score at X=70

X-μ 70-100 10

By table shown below

P(X>70)=P(Z>-3)=0.9987

Since the table only show the value to the left of Z score hence to get the value for the right area the given value is subtracted from 1.
