1. We use ideal gas equation to find the value of constant.

R = PV/nT

V = final volume - initial volume = 26.5 - 1 = 25.5 mL = 0.0255 L

P = 754 torr = 0.992 atm

Moles = mass /molar mass (of Mg) = 0.0243/24.3

R = 0.992*0.0225*24.3/0.0243*298 = 0.0749 L atm/ mol K
