It is important for the nurses to serve on the board because they provide authentic and unique perspective to health and welfare of the patients. They can impart greater stability in the processing of the healthcare facility, which can increase up the financial profit. Moreover, partnerships and collisions can increase up the working space and facilitate greater profit to the healthcare.
  • The nurses can get involved with organizational structure of a healthcare organization to create organizational change and financial sustainability by having a voice in the policy making of the organization. It is important for the nurses to have an opinion as it lead to greater standard of care for the healthcare facilities. It can impart a positive team culture with greater collaboration and help. Proper communication within nurses can lead to organizational change which can then lead to greater financial sustainability.
  • The nurses are working on their soft as well as hard skills to be involved in the decision making of the healthcare organization. These steps involve professionalism, critical thinking, compassion, time management, effective communication, attention to detail and cultural safety.
  • Increased involvement can certainly contribute to greater patient outcomes. The patients are most often exposed to the nurses. They spend their maximum time with the nurses and proper skills and knowledge among the nurses can make them more comfortable and safe. Moreover an involved nurse in the board can bring up the issues of the patients effectively which can lead to greater patient outcomes.
