ANSWER- FOUR FACTORS CONTRIBUTE TO MALNUTRITION AND POOR GROWTH IN CEREBRAL PALSEY CHILDREN ;-

  1. DYSPHAGIA ( Difficulty in swallowing) - this makes difficulty in eating, it can also cause breathing difficulty, may occur choking. This problem is most common in children suffering from cerebral palsy.By this problem the children not able to take food properly and this lead to malnutrition and poor growth.
  2. GASTROESOPHAGEAL REFLUX- this is also common in cerebral palsy children . It can cause heartburn, ulcers, pain. By all these symptoms children can have problem in eating and he/she can refuse to eat. child will not take food or nutrition properly and it can lead to malnutrition.
  3. poor intake of food may lead to deficiency of vitamins, proteins, fat, carbohydrate and children will lead to poor growth and malnutrition.
  4. Constipation / diarrhoea - if the child will not take food / nutrition properly the child may develop diarrhoea , constipation. By this problem it can cause malnutrition or poor growth of children.
