To achieve increased standard of living in the future by investment spending we must reduce the current consumption spending today. The income used two way either consumed or saved, saved money is the investment that is by buying bonds,pensions plans etc... So if we want to save we must forgone the saving and vice versa. By reducing the current consumption rate a lot of money is saved and invested and that will increase the standard of living of people in the future.
