The Affordable Care Act (ACA) or Obama care also known as a Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and it were affected by March-23-2010 and other important provisions phased by January 2014.

This act was passed to improve a crisis in access to health care by making private health insurance more affordable. It was formed to control the insurance industry’s preference for inventing ways to deny or deliver costly coverage to people who need it most. The ACA’s most popular preparation is to control the insurance industry denial of coverage to people with “preexisting conditions,” like AIDS or cancer and other costly ailments. With the condition such as employers mandate which directs that employer or businesses having 50 or more full-time equivalent employees (FTE) must provide health insurance to at least 95% of their full-time employees and to dependents up to the age of 26 years, or pay a fee by 2016. The Employer mandate can penalize an employer not offering coverage to its employees.

All this increased the utilization of the healthcare facilities by including undercover and not covered people under the insurance sector. People in low income group and those who were not covered by Medicare and Mediaid are now covered. This allowed to serve more people with the same level of resources, and hence increased the utilization.
