By observing both TLC plate , it is confirm that reaction mass containing both product and reactant. Alcohol is converted into ketone with 50:50 ratio . because Co. Spot and Reaction mass spot Contains diphenyl-methanol and Benzophenone .Same conclusion can be drawn on the basis of IR , because IR spectra shows peak for OH and C=O group .
OH = stretching peak -3400-3600 cm-1
C=O = stretching band for carbonyl group =1700cm-1 , but band not look so prominent because it has combination of mixture.
