Answer #1

In the IUPAC nomenclature system,

(i)The name of NH3 ligand is ammine. There are three such ligands, so triammine.

(ii) The name of OH2 ligand is aqua. There are three such ligands, so triaqua.

(iii) If the coordination sphere is cationic, then its name ends with the transition-metal name as such and its oxidation state in parentheses. Here, it's molybdenum(III).

(iv) The ionization sphere (in case it is anionic) will come as the suffix. For chlorine, the name is chloride. Once, the oxidation state is mentioned for the coordination sphere, there is no need to specify the no. of ions in the ionization sphere.

(v) There should be space between coordination sphere and the ionization sphere.

Hence, the systematic/IUPAC name of the given complex is triamminetriaquamolybdenum(III) chloride
