a. Predetermined operating room overhead rate = Total estimated room overhead / Number of surgical room hours

= $980,000 / (50 weeks×7days × 8hrs)

= $980,000 / 2,800 = $350

b. Operating room overhead charged = 3 × $350 = $1,050

c. Here, charged overhead = 194 ×$350 = $67,900

and actual overhead = $66,400

Hence, the overhead is Overapplied by $1,500 (i.e. $67,900 - 66,400)

so answer would be $1,500 Overapplied
