Consider a family in Atlanta, Georgia, whose average heating bill has been $600 a year. The family now moves to an identical house in Denver, Colorado, where the fuel and electricity prices are also the same. How much do you expect the annual heating bill of this family to be in their new home?
From the problem it is clear that the two things used for heating is electricity and fuel. Because of them the heat producing. Based on that i analysed the problem.
average heating bill= $600 a year (before the shift.).
But after shifting their houses from Atlanta, Georgia the fuel and electricity prices are same in Denver, Colorado.
So,
The average heating bill = $600 a year
(the quantities which are responsible for producing heat * their cost per year) total cost
average bill= ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ = ---------------------
( the quantity producing the heat ) no of quantities
therefore,
no of quantities = 2 (fuel, electricity)
total cost= average cost *2
total cost= 600*2 a year
The annual heating bill = $ 1200 a year
Consider a family in Atlanta, Georgia, whose average heating bill has been $600 a year. The...
