so for my general unknown lab im testing for possible anion present
I followed procedure 33 and adding the H2SO4 it had a brown bubbly reaction and heating it up produced a brown gas.
i need help at determining the possible anion present.

If the compound gives brown bubbly gas on adding H2S04 and produces brown gas on further heating then it must be a chemical compound containing Bromide(Br-) or Nitrite(NO2-) ion as the anions in it.

Further clarification of the anion in the compound needs the confirmatory test to be done for Bromide and Nitrite ions.
