The formula for calculating Formal Charge is as follows:

FC = VE - NE - BE/2

Here VE = valence electrons

NE = non Bonding electrons

BE = Bonding electrons

If the total number of electron groups around the atom are 2 then it's hybridization is sp. Bond angle is 180°

If the total number of electron groups around the atom are 3 then it's hybridization is sp2. Bond angle is 120°

If the total number of electron groups around the atom are 4 then it's hybridization is sp3. Bond angle is 109°

If the total number of electron groups around the atom are 5 then it's hybridization is sp3d

If the total number of electron groups around the atom are 6 then it's hybridization is sp3d2
